Look At Us Dancing
Look at them dancing
It was a chance for the taking
A chance for making
Peace and romancing
I'm drowning in the blood of my own heart
You cut the strings out and made everything hard
Leaving my mangled body frayed and my soul scarred
But perhaps that's what I deserved when I wasn't smart
They say life is a gift
But don't you dare be daft
You saw how they laughed
And birthed a riveting rift
In the darkness where pain cuts deep
Alone with your feelings
Alone with your dark dealings
Watch how the tears slowly steep
You and I we're two of a kind
In the moonlight we wanted to mend
But how on earth could we pretend
That we both didn't want to rewind
When we wipe our tears
I want you to know I care
And even if life isn't fair
Allow me to ease your fears
You kiss my cheeks
But deep inside I'm a mess
If I must truly confess
My heart still feels weak
But look at us dancing
It was a chance for the taking
And we took a chance for making
Peace and romancing
