Look At All the Snow
We're waist-deep in snow
Winter won't let go,
whatever happened to Spring
not one single bud
only frozen mud;
will the songbirds ever sing?
I miss the sweet smells
lilies and bluebells,
I've had enough ice and slush,
when will tulips show
or daffodils grow;
where's Nature's colorful brush?
Winter's bland duvet
reveals Fall's decay
as it melts under the sun,
then it snows again
adding to my pain;
will Winter never be done?
Where's April's showers,
Spring, it seems, cowers
under a blanket of snow,
lacking a warm breeze
raindrops quickly freeze;
will the snowdrops ever grow?
