Longings

A missing link in life’s precious chain
An empty feeling that came to remain
A nebulous feeling that lately came,
I need to define it; give it a name.

Is a person missing? A special event?
I feel the loss of days that are spent
They’re gone from my life; they’re past; history
What remains are unknowns, waiting for me.

I’m molded by history; a personal mixture
As my life’s people blend, as a picture
Some influence good; some are bland
I combine them all – and, form who I am.

I continue to learn as I make decisions
Not much is firm – I make some revisions
The me, who’s striving to fit in the world
My journey continues my birthing swirl.

This poem was well-written, and I understood what you as a poet is trying to convey to the readers. Great work!
