Longing To Be Home

You are in my mind
Day or night
At school or at home
With friends or alone
It’s a constant stream of
You, you, you.

You’re the thought
That keeps me going
Through the hardest of times.
And the texts
That make me smile like an idiot.

You keep me eating
You keep me sane
Hell; you keep me breathing
Every single day.

But you’re over there
Somehow sound asleep
And I’m over here
Crying; because I miss you
And because I should be there
Curled up with you.

It’s the one place
My body feels safe enough
To slowly fall asleep.
