Longevity and Love
My life has been a hodgepodge
Of joy and disillusion
Somehow I learned the ways to dodge
The sadness and confusion
How did I manage all these years
To stay afloat so long
Because through laughter and the tears
My friendships made me strong
They spoke the truth and loved me well
When I was out to sea
And if I'd need someone to tell
They'd listen selflessly
This tapestry I call my life
Is full of rips and holes
But through the heartache and the strife
I've walked right on the coals
'Cos I've had friendships long and deep
We lift each other high
They're right there in my heart to keep
No need to question why
