Long Summer Days
Long summer days
Sittin' around with nothin' to do
We were already fifteen
Should we have gone to the zoo?
Long summer days
Loungin' round feelin' blue
Too young for a job
Should we have ducked in and watched the tube?
Long summer days
Nothin' but soaps on the tube
It was a time before video games
A time before Rubik's Cube
Long summer days
Too old to be a camper
Too young to be a counselor
On us, life put a definite damper
Long summer days
Pollution and alewives spoiled the lake
Cost too much to go the pool
Might as well head back to school
Oh, those long summer days
Those hot summer days
Those long, hot summer days...
