Long Red Rope

Standing behind this long red rope
With no desires of walking past
The picture, the artwork, it speaks to me.
Lovely Mona Lisa’s smile.

There, another, this time it’s Monet,
With colors so vibrant, yet subdued.
I stand behind this long red rope
and will just appreciate, for the while.

From Renaissance to Baroque,
different periods, different styles.
I’ll stand behind this long red rope
and gaze in wonder like a child
