Long Pine
Sometimes I miss her terribly
I feel it in my soul
I stand outside and look at stars
And watch as night clouds scroll
Across a dark and boundless sky
As crickets chirp a song
That sings of one who's pining
For her whom he does long
She's nestled deep inside my heart
Though no one knows she's there
She's always with me where I go
And all of me I share
I take her out for coffee
I fly her on a plane
I play for her by river banks
I shelter her in rain
And though these things are in my mind
Someday they might not be
And if that day should ever come
Ecstatic I would be
