Long Lonely Days

Days are long,
every hour seams longer.
Every minute passes,
every second ticks by.
Sorrow makes time slow,
heartache lengthens my days.
I put on my mask,
happiness covers my deepest fears.
I lay silent in the darkness,
fearful of being truly alone.
Hours are long,
days are longer.
I can't stop this shadow,
that clouds every portion of my life.
The tears fall,
they continue to fall,
a never ceasing flow,
of sorrow and loneliness.
My breath catches in my breast,
as I watch all of the faces,
the people who pass by,
loved, happy, and together.
My heart hurts,
as it races through me.
The knife is stabbed deep,
and the claws engulf me,
taking me into its shadowy grasp.
My hours seam long,
minutes tick by,
tick, tick, tick,tick../
1, 2, 3, 4...
My sorrow is great,
My grief is great,
My pain is great,
My loneliness is immense.
Seconds tick by,
minutes seam slow,
hours are long,
days are longer.
My sorrow makes time slow,
as heartache lengthens my days.
