Very late
Ring Ring
It was the phone
I hesitate
Maybe it would stop
Ring Ring
I guess not
RING RING
Leaving the bed
RING RING
Shuffling to the living room
RING RI-
I answered the phone
Put the handset to my head
Came the voice of a little girl
Age about five
Sweet and polite
A voice from the dead
“Hello world,” she said
