Long Ago Now Gone

the beat your heart is drumming
is not in time
with the strings
my heart is strumming
a strangely disjointed song
sounding like fragments
of something once familiar
once upon a time long ago now gone
and we fumble along
trying hard not to think
of the two heart songs
horribly out of sync

Like the lilting rhythm of your lines ---'once upon a time long ago now gone // and we fumble along...' Keep up the great writes, Robin! Cheers, Gershon
