Long Ago In Bethlehem Town

Long ago in blessed Bethlehem… Triumphant Town
The prince of peace from the holy heavens came down
Born by a virtuous virgin, lovely laid in a mere, manger
Peace to the world, from now on we cease to be strangers

Joy to the world, the Lord is come to the erring earth,
And he shall save his people from their sinful strength
His name shall be called Emmanuel, Eternal God with us
Wonderful, wise, white, whole and worthy… Jesus

Judy Konos March 6, 2011 at 12:32 PM He may not be white as we know it. The race of Jesus of Nazareth has long been debated between historians and scientist. Opinions note that he is "most likely" a Galilean Jew with features resembling Middle Eastern descent, a dark olive colored skin tone.The Bible does not tell us what he looked like, only where he was from. With that said, I liked your poem....Thank you...
