Lonesome Days

These days seem to advance ever so slowly. The eroding of mountains from trickling streams appears to happen at a much faster rate than me waiting here, alone, waiting for your return. I fill my time with inconsequential tasks. All designed to while away the lonely minutes, spent alone, thinking of us sheltered in our embrace, expressing our love for each other, as only we can. I lay alone in my bed and I close my eyes tight, I can feel your warmth next to me. Your soft yellow hair caresses my lips as I nibble your neck. I can feel your breath on my cheek. Then I open my eyes and I realize I am once again... alone. Comforted only by the knowledge that the day next, we will be in each other's arms.
