Lonely Wanderer
Lonely wanderer wandering through the night
searching for something or someone to hold tight.
Hoping to find a reason to remain,
something to sustain.
Stopping briefly in a dark place
where he sees only one face.
The face of innocence encircled by a halo
smiling and waving, so hard to let go.
Wondering now why it had to be
the only way to be free.
