Lonely Star Song

Into dark and lightly dotted night
I stare at these stars, oh so bright
A lonely face, towards an ocean of scintillating stars I gaze
My sight and heart fading in an aching haze

Wondering where I'll ever belong
While listening to this sad song
With a frown, rolling down, ever so gently, a silky tear
Towards my cheek creaps warmly near

Sometimes it's just hard to stay strong
When all of the world feels cruel and wrong
It seems lately joy's visits are gone for far too long
So I'll sit, and keep listening to my lonely star song
