Lonely Lanterns
Falling through my dispute
The people I love cannot guess my mind
Through all my goings I must refuse
To gather my senses I have to lie
All the good that is left has run
Hiding so deep inside us all
Each of us can’t see the sacrifice
There’s too much at stake to break down the walls
We’re forgetting how to relate
Our icy armour has covered our eyes
When we suffer we learn some truth
And when we see it we save some lives
It’s so lonely within this world
Our inner light has to weather its pain
There’s still nobody to help us up
And when we hurt the most we’re left in the rain
The complexity has us caged
To thrive we must use our swords
But why not, when it’s all we see
Why not destroy just to spend some more
