Loneliness

Loneliness

I have an empty sick feeling
From deep inside my soul
It came the day you left me
Stranded and left alone in the cold

I should have seen it coming
You had slowly begun to leave
I didn’t pay close attention
So now I am left to grieve

I will not grieve forever
My heart will help me mend
But it is such a long journey
And hard to reach the end.

 Loneliness won’t kill me
But sometimes I am not too sure
I pray with all my might
For God to help me endure.

Faith I heard moves mountains
I could sure use some of that
I will take it all to my heart
And start my journey back.

The journey back from pain
Is long and filled with doubts
But I have traveled the road before
Not something I am happy about.

One step follows the other
Until I reach the end
My healing will finally begun
And I will at last be on the mend.
