Loneliness

Loneliness There was someone Knocking at door? While mystic wind in meadows roar Is this the naughty gust of wind! Is this the noise of rowing ore! No one will come my saddened heart From Northern lights from yonder bay No one will ever come to thee Though travellers are there on the way With wavering lamps of eyes that dimmed Why stood thou lonely on the way Thy dreamy castles on the shores I can't see them while rowing oar With wistful gaze , with soul ablaze Oh gloomy heart thou speak no more I vow that every door I shut I vow that I'll wait no one My dreaming eyes, my burning soul All life thou sought but found thee none Thy sandy castles went with waves Thy dreamy rainbows all withdrew Thou pine for hope and truth and love That not in mortal bosoms grew Lit not thy candles in the winds In such a stormy moonless night While Death with grandeur on the way And Beauty smiles in every sight
