Lone Wolf

She walks among nocturnal light
Seeking what she may devour
Forever lonely is her plight
Forever does the land she scower

She seeks her mate though he has died
A hunters gun did bring him down
Her grief now has her live this lie
False hope now has her surely bound

She howls now under moonlight rays
For now it is her only friend
The predator now fills like prey
She wonders when this long night ends

Knowing that wolves mate for life makes her sad plight so real Charles. Excellent!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't write much melancholy or dark poetry so I'm glad for a second opinion.
