Lone Gull

A bit of paper
           blown high
Lone gull in an empty sky

Listen closely
           hear it cry
Ten thousand others close by

Whoa...so true, Daver! I don't know what their special vocal signal is, but many then arrive on the scene. Yesterday I was feeding bread to a pair of geese...one gull flew overhead, then hoards of them appeared! I tried driving them away by swinging the bag above my head. Then someone set their car alarm off, and they all flew away.:) The geese stayed though. Best wishes...Love, Mikki

you have got a cool style, Daver. I like this. You do understand that when I say "cool "it is because I lack the vocabulary to say otherwise? So please accept it as a compliment! Thanks for your comment on my med poem. Interesting... the only one that got it dead on ... must be my lack.... I'll work on er some ah reckon. Been reading over some of your poems I already read. I still get to chuckling. Thanks -your friend, Robert

Wonderful poem, Daver! I've missed you as I've been traveling and moving. I'll have no internet or phone from Friday morning until Wednesday when the new phone is hooked up in Ormond Beach. I'm looking forward to reading about the lost violins! James Fraser and I cowrote a poem today when I took a little time out from packing. Nearly ready for the move now. Hope to hear from you soon! Love you! Carolyn
