Lockdown Blues

Every cloud has a silver lining
The sky is dark in the east
Corona virus keeps us whining
At the approach of this invisible beast!

Lockdown clamped in the city
Enforced strictly with force
No excuses evoke pity
And no signs of any remorse

However, the silver lining shone
To show light all the way
Creating ideas to kill time alone
And keep busy throughout the day

Ladies cook new recipes to taste
Those tickle the olfactory nerve
All mouths water as we rush in haste
To share it before it’s ready to serve

Others take to stitching face mask
From old clothes used for wear
Simple design not a difficult task
Sufficient to prevent virus scare

Children test their acting skill
Innovating characters with ease
Elders guide them with an arduous drill
Those make them work like bees

As the Lockdown days pass by
It leaves behind a plethora of skills
Those are ready to harness and apply
Invigorating the mind with untold thrills
