Living Years

The living years Had just been song Until it happened in my life: Am singing it now, Many things I should have Told him, he should have told me. Many things I wanted to know; Loved my dad so much: Was proud of him, Boasted about him: Was great to have a father And know he was there, To actually know him: To be like him when I had Not ever quite stayed with him, To talk like him, Look like him, his mannerisms and all. Circumstances were prohibitive, Much love fell to pride, Wanted him to feel my pain Through my silence: Just never talked, never made sense, Was so stupid.
