Living Up

Lying down, my thoughts flying
I ponder on my trying.
Is it just the petition?
Or maybe it’s my expensive aspiration.
It’s not a crime to obtain an education,
Yet it’s so difficult to gain some meditation.

Forsake came from many,
But I was never ready to renounce my journey.
Although I faced numerous trials
Semester grades did not spiral.
Faith became my close friend,
While shrugged shoulders became a trend.

Why did you choose to go so far?
When your family lives in the northern bar.
Others inquired about the reasons for my start
Declaring that delay would have been smart.
To show them my path would not be history
I transformed their negativity into my victory.
