Living the Dream

His eyes were opened in the night,
a revelation in a dream.
He was taken to a place,
of beauty yet unseen.
There were angels singing, a majestic choir,
worshiping God, their glorious king.
And people were laying down their hearts,
 in a praise filled offering.
And there was music, sweet sweet music,
like never heard before.
And people dancing like in spirit,
he felt love and peace and wanted more.
He knew he had found his home,
this was where he was meant to be.
He wondered what he must do,
to make it all reality.
Then he was led to an entrance,
it's gates sprung open wide.
He passed through and saw a path,
a trail to the other side.
Bright light shined along this path,
surrounded by the darkest night.
Evil reached from the darkness,
but those on the path were safe in the light.
And there was blood all along the trail,
and on those who traveled there.
But they were not wounded, it was not their blood,
he wondered then from where.
In the distance he saw a cross,
and from his heart there he was led.
Blood flowed down upon him there,
and in tears of sorrow and joy he said.
"My God, My God you led me here,
to this place of all my sin.
Forgive me Father, for what I've done,
for I've given them all to Him.
It's His blood now covers me,
for my transgressions he has died.
My heart now belongs to Him,
take me Father to His side."
An inner peace came over him,
a change from deep within.
He sought the truth and what was right,
and was conscious of his sin.
Glory shined from cross to path,
lighting up the trail,
where truth was heard, through his word,
and righteousness did prevail.
This was the way of the redeemed.
Led by Gods Spirit and grace enough,
to carry him to that glorious place
of inner peace and endless love.
The place from where his dream began,
the place he knew was home.
There he laid down his heart
at the foot of his Savior's throne.
