Living a Lie

POEMS

Living a lie
How many of us are living a lie
We know that we are not being true to ourselves
We walk around with a mask on
Not letting people see us for who we really are
We try to please others instead of ourselves
We let others walk over us because we love them
But who is living the lie
You or them
Yeah it’s you
Living a lie
Stop the lie
Live the truth
Take it from me
I am not proud
That I am living a lie

Your poem makes me wonder when we all collectively decided this is how we're going to do things. I know for me its an armor against the barrage, and perhaps even partial allies are allies enough. Anyhow, thank you for this piece.
