Live In the Moment

Closer to the end of life than the beginning Days viewed differently Sayings that were once empty Now hold validity …. “Life is short” Voiced now , speaks truth Empty meaningless words Stated in youth….. “Live each day like it’s your last” Meant so little before Becoming realistic now Edging closer to heavens door Senior years “The age of appreciation “ Eyes weakened yet see much more Aware of how precious time is Living in the moment like never before! Life a true blessing A gift to treasure and cherish To celebrate and receive fulfilment Never to squander and perish Wisdom an acquisition of maturing Perceptive to life’s true worth Enlightened to the fortune Of being granted this time on earth

Old Age slows you down, but the time left seems to fly. Even the moments seem to get shorter as you age. I especially like the line" Age of appreciation." A time to reflect, indeed. Beautiful poem, very wisely expressed. Take care, Deb; Love from "Old Duck."X
