Live For Today, My Friend

                    
                live for today like an inner child 
                    full of youthful exuberance
           live it as if tomorrow will never come 
          live it with grace and scintillating light
bursting out within you;  let nothing hold you back!

           live for today the best you know how 
             put tomorrow in abeyance for now
             seize it tightly! it is a rose in bloom
          pause, my friend, and take a whiff of it
        free yourself from the undertow of ennui 

                  live for today, and live it freely!
 live it with your heart dancing with unfettered joy,
          with your spirit jumping like a butterfly 
        in the meadow, with never-say-die gusto
      tomorrow can wait; live for today, my friend
