Live For Today
I'm standing in the calm before the storm
while you're at home in bed, safe and warm
I'm watching the waves crashing upon the shore
I'm not fighting it anymore...just let it pour
I've held this weight for far too long
as ya'll sit and watch like nothing is wrong
I drop to one knee as the pressure grows
how many more will pass? who knows
I'll let the rain wash away my past
as i let go of hope, at last
you're burdens shall be mine no more
I'm not fighting it anymore...just let it pour
all of humanity seems to be lost at sea
I would help everyone, but who's gonna help me
life is short and you will die
as will those in need that you walked by
those are your brothers and sisters, you let down
step down from your throne and lay down your crown
you're nothing but a peasant among the crowd
even in royalty...decency is allowed
people don't want to try... people don't seem to care
they'll watch the world fall apart, then wonder why it's not there
ignorance is bliss...or so that's what they say
tommorrow could be different... but it's just another day
It's a wonder what one man could change
yet no one does anything and you don't find that strange?
standing in the calm before the storm, yet tommorrows, may be no more
I'm not fighting it anymore...just let it pour
