Little Son

Atisa Nicholas
Little son

my hands were too short to reach out far
legs summarised to throw long strides
eyes too small to see wide
with a pure heart to bare sins
then I grew;
have you sitted on my laps
straightening you in a clear path
to leave you a man on this earth
you remember,
what I said at your birth
'you will be great among the great'
I meant it never despaired
you my only, one I inspired
a sunny day to you I aspired
its time!-it hasn't expired
this big world is yours,
me I'll soon be retired
do always good, never get tired
you are a Christian not a triad
pray to GOD to show you his gold
all belong to him am told
get good friends and a better future mould
fight, fight! always fight like a lion bold
now, tomorrow till you are old
then in all corners you'll have your legacy sold
..........my son my son my son...
do as I said and my little son,
you'll shine like that huge sun
