Little Sister Sunshine Awash in a Glow

                                           Storm clouds finally passing

                                               Joyful shouts of jubilee

                                            For my Little Sister Sunshine

                                             Has learned that she's now

                                                        Cancer free!

                                             Successful was the surgery,

                                               Weeks now into recovery

                                                 Gifted with this news 

                                        We raise above the troubled blues!

                                        Thank you for each well wish made

                                      And every precious prayer you prayed

                                          As rain washed fields of sunshine

                                                Sister Sunshine is a glow, 

                                             This storm of sorrow passes

                                                       Chapters open  

                                                           Tomorrow!




   P.S., thank you all who have lifted prayer for my 'Little Sister Sunshine' who was        diagnosed with kidney cancer, and all the sweet comments left on my prayer-poem I posted 'Sonshine over Sunshine'. Knowing that I have Brothers and Sisters who believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I had extended a plea for prayer chains of other believers on Chelsie's behalf. Many of you responded from all over the earth, and she told me that she felt like she was being prayed for when I shared the poem and each comment with her. She was incredibly comforted by each comment and asked me to thank you all!

Silent One July 28, 2026 at 10:21 AM I loved how you used the storm and sunshine imagery to reflect the journey from fear and uncertainty to hope and healing. "Sister Sunshine" is such a lovely, affectionate phrase, and you can really feel the love and gratitude behind every line. The poem doesn't just celebrate the successful surgery, but also acknowledges everyone who supported you with their prayers and kind wishes, which makes it even more touching. Wishing your sister continued strength and good health as she recovers, and thank you for sharing such a joyful and heartfelt piece. The next day, the poem 'Sonshine Over Sunshine' had been chosen as the poem of the day, and the comments were pouring in. I called her and read her every single precious comment. She told me "I have been feeling uplifted today, and a lot better, this must be why! Tell them thank you for me :)" Sometimes, I truly marvel at how encouragement, prayer, kindness and well wishes really impact a person's well being, but it does. Just the fact that so many cared about her, she felt it, before I even read the comments. I remember that even Jesus Himself asked for prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. If even He asked His friends to pray, I know it's powerful in a way we don't fully understand, but whatever it is, it is needful. I am so happy my dear sister is cancer free, I am amazed and incredibly thankful! My little sister, though we are growing old, is the Sunshine that ever lit my days in childhood. She was born when I was four, her smile and golden locks were as shining as her personality. It's funny, we really are getting old, and yet, she is forever my little sister, though mature and a strong woman. We celebrate every day of breath that we have left! The day I shared my first poem, I talked to her on the telephone and told her I was asking for prayer for her on here. Andrea Dietrich July 21, 2026 at 2:44 PM Wow. What amazing news and poem of gratitude. I am happy for you that she is cancer free. Wish I had such strong faith as that for healing. Did she undergo any treatments? Sorry if you already said in any other post. My memory is not the greatest Bj Legros Kelley July 23, 2026 at 4:20 AM Her surgeon said that he was able to remove the cancerous portion of her kidney and that she is not going to need to undergo chemo, which is a praise. She did however begin having irregular heart rhythms and is having to take heart medicine. She is healing and doing so much better, we praise God. He uses many ways to heal, and she had a great surgeon and hospital staff. Her stay was longer than she anticipated, but she is happy to be recuperating and simply overjoyed with the prognosis!

She is on medicine for her heart now, and still appreciates prayer for her complete healing, yet this is so amazingly wonderful that she will not need to undergo chemo. Just, so very relieved!
