Little Rain Dancer

Little Rain Dancer By Dalene Deale-Rowe With the soft pitter patter Of the raindrops outside A little girl emerges From her place where she hides With long blonde hair And dirty little feet I know she lives quite close On the other side of the street She looks a little bewildered I wouldn’t describe it as scared More like she has seen a lot But not many have cared She loves coming out When the sky pours down That’s when you’ll see her smile When she hides away her frown How I love to watch As she dances in the rain It’s as if only heaven’s water Can wash away her pain I wish that I could hug her Or maybe just hold her hand To give her love and cuddles And tell her I understand I too have my corner Where I like to hide But not even getting wet Would keep me inside Seeing this little rain dancer With no care of who can see Is my version heavenly raindrops That makes me smile and sets me free
