Little Piece of Heaven?
On this little piece of heaven
where we stand, lovin'
one another, watching over what is called hell
we see them rebel
and try to destroy this island,
this little piece of heaven, made of rock and sand
I look over at you and bear my soul
and hope that you can make me whole
but if you reject me
you will see
me cast back into sorrow
and I might not be here tomorrow
I hope and pray
that you may
be able to see me for who I am, heart
in pieces without glue, only art
to help fill what was once complete,
now I sit, feeling empty and alone
just a sack of flesh and bone
waiting for the response that never
comes, still in pain, probably forever
till I can stand again
on that little piece of heaven
