Little Old Me On My Own

Having been brought up an only child
spent a lot of my time on my own
lived in the country with no one around
but learned to be content so very alone

I had many toys to amuse myself with
really loved to play in my little bedroom
tractors trailers cows sheep all around
plastic they were but made me to bloom

Really liked the outdoors too
played on swings across the road
kicked a ball to my hearts content
no particular skill as it showed

But I did enjoy these young days
learning to amuse myself as a kid
looking back on them pleasurably
having few regrets in all I did

Another nice poem Gordon...can relate! I'm one of the last to have experienced no indoor plumbing as a child....wouldn't trade the country for anything......

Nice poetry well written and composed. Takes me back a few years remembering my childhood days. Even when I was out in the fields with my mom I would get bored. I was real young then and couldn't pick the grapes or cotton but my mom taught to look up into the clouds and imagine. I could see all kinds of things up there.
