Little by Little by Little

My heart seems to break every day
and
little by little by little
it's chipping away.
The pain that I feel,
I pretend it's not real,
but
little by little by little
I know I'm falling apart
because of the ache in my heart
but
little by little by little
you pull me close
tell me you love me most
and
little by little by little
I begin to heal.
No longer must I conceal
all the pain I feel
and
little by little by little
you stand by my side
both day and night
drying the tears I cried.
But,
little by little by little
I feel you drifting away
like the rest you won't stay.
So,
little by little by little
my heart seems to break every day
all over again.

Dear Scarlett, your poem beautifully captures the ebb and flow of emotions in matters of the heart. The repetition of "little by little by little" reinforces the gradual unraveling of pain and the slow journey toward healing. I loved how your words convey the delicate balance between vulnerability and resilience and the transient nature of love and loss. This is such a heartfelt expression of emotional turmoil and the hope for eventual healing. - Blessings, Daniel
