Little Boy Prays

Little boy tucked
In bed tight
Said, please read a story
Before turning out the light
The one on my dresser
On the right
Mom had seen it
Laying there in sight

She picked up the book
Sat down on the bed
Asked, are you ready
He said, go ahead

After she was done
She asked, ready to pray
He closed his eyes
Began to say

Jesus watch me tonight
While I sleep tight
My wrong doings, I make right
Be with my parents tonight. Amen!

She hugged him
Kissed him good night
Said, she loved him
To sleep tight
Now it's time for me
To turn out the light
