Little Boy Lost

As the sun starts to rise
Her nightmares await
For the judge and jury
Would determine her fate

"An accident", she pleads
The courtroom was silent
As they return with their verdict
The woman was violent

"Please" she cried
"You don't understand"
As the judge gave the order
For the woman to stand

She was only gone a minute
To talk on the phone
For she never meant
To leave him alone

"Guilty", said the foreman
She didn't make a sound
For she was the reason
Her little boy drowned

The gavel sounded
As the jury had risen
The woman would spend
Her whole life in prison

This can happen so quickly.. All thats needed is a small distraction and the result can be devastating.
