Little Boy Fun
Little Boy Fun
I remember, like all little boys,
Life revolving around friends and toys
Around the age of six or seven,
Playing outside was next to heaven.
Baseball games and swimming pools,
I was an active, show-off fool.
Never slowing down to eat,
There was fire underneath my feet.
There was never enough daylight,
To accomplish everything in my sight.
But that never stopped me from doing all I could,
Of milking every inch of fun out of that neighborhood.
Looking back now, I sit and smile,
And let my mind drift for awhile.
It was enviable that time would pass,
Like a sprint or a ten yard dash.
Leaving far behind careless days,
And those mischievous boyhood ways.
But those hazy summer fun-filled days,
In this grown-up mind will never fade
