Little Black Sambo

I never understood just why
they banned this charming book.
Black Sambo showed his wits and guile,
but that’s just my outlook.

I never sensed a race bias
or that he was not fit
to be the hero of this book;
it only shows his grit.

I am so glad the book is back,
available once more,
so all can read of his courage
there on the jungle floor.

Thanks for the entry Terry, and the insight no child should be ignored in stories, all children should have the chance to see themselves as heroes! Congrad's Light & Love

Oh how I agree with your sentiments Terry, loved these stories when I was a child.
