Listening For God

Your Word, Dear, Lord,
I wait to hear,
as hymns of praise,
play in my ear.

In you alone,
I place my trust.
Your ways are loving,
true and just.

I pray my sins,
You will forgive.
My heart I bow.
In You I live.

Then, in a hymn,
Your voice, I hear,
singing to me,
clarion clear.

Listening for God,
you, too, can hear,
His voice on earth,
is ever so near.

When we draw close to God, Daire, He draws close to us. I'm happy my poem touched you. Enjoy your God-given day.

I like your message here. God indeed can be found, he doesn't hide.

God shines a light so bright that no one can hide from Him. Some may ignore Him, but still He pursues, because God wants everyone to be saved. Sinners think they have to clean their lives up before they turn to Him. Not true, God takes us just as we are. (and showers us with His love) Then we start to change because we want to be more like Him.

Darlene . . . I too liked the simplicity and yet direct message of your poem here. It's a beautifully crafted piece. I read your note again from 19 Oct and I noticed you mentioned that your in California. I always liked to visit there in the past. In fact, many years ago at the outset of my U.S. Army career before I became an Officer later, I studied the Russian language at the Defense Language School in Presidio of Monterey, CA. Loved it. Tough Course. Use my Russian later in Berlin. Best, Gary

Hello, Gary, nice name! It was my son's who died in '83 of Cystic Fibroses. He had just turned 13. Just getting interested in girls. Loved life! ... Thanks for liking and reading my prayer poem. You sound like you have an interesting job and career. Monterey is beautiful.I went to that famous aquarium there years ago.And it's John Steinbeck's back yard.I served 2 years in the Army '55-'57 I would have reenlisted but not 21 yet and my mother didn't allow me to go overseas,so I got out.

Thank you, Gordon, and I pray that this prayer has blessed you. It's so true when we listen for God we can hear Him everywhere" In people, in nature, in sunrises and sunsets, etc. He speaks. And I am doing fine, Gordon. Thanks for asking.
