Listen To My Heart
I've been down so many roads
and seen so many places.
Tears fill my eyes when I recall
some well remembered faces.
It seems I should have stayed,
just when I chose to part.
I didn't stop to take the time
to listen to my heart.
Faces from a troubled past --
Places best forgotten --
join together with some things
forever unforgotten.
For those that I passed by
there is a counterpart.
You reached out and taught me
to listen to my heart.
The past will never be undone.
It's part of history.
But, here today, I'm glad to say
there is a you and me.
A yesterday remembered --
One that stands apart --
You came to me, I had no choice --
But listen to my heart.
