Listen Close

A solitary tear trickled down my cheek today
I couldn't fathom the reason why
I quickly turned my head from my co workers
So no one would see me cry.
I found a quiet place to be alone
To search the reason within my soul
Only to find I just cried harder
Like I was losing all control
I spoke verbally out loud to my aching heart
I said " Hey, what's up with you?"
I can't deal with this mess right now
I've got a job to do
My heart spoke back and said he could take no more
For I had bottled up so much pain
And it was time for a release of the madness
And why my tears began to rain
So take time to listen to you inner soul
And let him have his way
Give thanks for the cleansing gift he gives
It will save your life someday

Carl, holding in things may not seem bad until it sinks in and you either tear up or explode in an unkindly manner seek a shoulder within a friend and don't hold in anything free your mind .... the light willing to free you from all the pain. Thanks for sharing your poem. And let him have his way...hugs . I'm always here, yours truly. Linda
