Listen and Learn

I need to send myself a letter,
To remind myself to behave better
To use the wisdom my Mother taught
And act in a manner that I ought,
To listen more and to talk less,
I find this extremely hard, I must confess,
When we live in a world steeped in war
And we all wonder what it's for
There is no sense in this unrest.
Or no prizes for best of the battle tests
Doom and Gloom are rife these days.
People feel like they are locked in a cage.
With no way out.
However loud they shout.
Perhaps we should all listen to each other,
To share points of view.
We would prosper from joint knowledge,
And understanding too.
