I LISTENED ONCE TO THE BIRDS IN THE SKY ITS SOFT AWAKENING I LISTEN NOW DELEUDED SHRIEKS FROM THE PIERCING LIGHT I LISTENED ONCE TO THE WINDS IT’S CHIMES TINKLES WITH THE MORNING DEW I LISTEN NOW HOWLS OF PAIN TEAR AT MY SKIN I FELT ONCE THE GLORY OF THE SUN BATHING PEACEFULLY IN ITS WARMTH I FEEL NOW INESCAPABLE FIRE THAT TORTURES MY SOUL I FELT ONCE THE AIR THAT I BREATHE FEELING ALIVE I FEEL NOW SUFFOCATION OF POLLUTION I LISTENED ONCE TO THE SONG OF THE CITY I LISTEN NOW TO ITS FUNERAL MARCH

Hi Sharmin, thank you so much for your comment,... love the way you use block caps for this poem; a powerful write and because of the block capitals hit hard as if screaming the words out.... very clever, well done !

Great writing Sharmin. This speaks to me of global warming and all of humankind's destruction of the environment. Love, Nigel

Thank you very much. I have changed the stanzas around a bit as this is the old version. Any suggestions on improvement is really welcome

Very deep poem - loved the way it was laid out and the use of repeating lines

To everything there is a season. We must listen to it all but we don't have to receive it all. Life and death is in the power of the tongue. So speak life and peace to the depressing situations. Great write.
