Lissome

Written: January 26, 2026, for contest Sponsored by: John Anderson ***************** Not frail, but a supple whisper, timidity softened into grace, a slope bending with light. Syllables flow, languid yet nimble, bursting like a jovial colloquy, round and full at the edges. Curves of ink lean forward, thick black against white, a clamor of elegance denied. It coddles my flaws, rebukes steady fear, and leaves me lissome in memory.

Using the word .Lissone the snake necklace that Mona Lisa wears which bears a hidden secret Is believed to exist - how clever to compare today's happenings to a secret kept from us. Beauty and talent handle a skilled nib here, your nib my friend! Congratulations on your win. Hugs Jennifer

This poem is eloquent in its metaphoric use of images to describe writing. You reach out and grab my attention with comparisons to the shape of letters with phrases like "round and full at the edges!" There is such a sense of success when remembering the experience of crafting a well crafted poem! Blessings and best wishes for a win! It really is excellent and very creative, my friend!
