Lingo
An Englishman, an Irishman, a Welshman and a Scot
Met up in a pub and I put them on the spot
I’m a language student, I’m in my final year
I thought I’d come to Britain and hone my syntax here
I told them I’d be very pleased to buy them all a beer
If they just sit and chatter while I sit somewhere near
Well as they talked I listened and I ordered sandwiches
It seemed to me that they were talking different languages
So I am not much wiser except it seems I might
Have ten to twenty phrases with which to start a fight
