Lines
Exhaustive searching, certain words you seek,
Thematic flow in lyrical technique.
You thumb through volumes searching for a line
To kindle inspiration in your mind.
Convinced a stanza finished, then rethink,
As fragments fail to form a missing link.
An expectation stumbles to a stall ;
A pressing of your brain against a wall.
Then seamlessly the flashing of a line
So brilliant your emotions swiftly blind.
Too priceless to be captured, you forget.
The prose you cherish most knew this regret.
