Linda and Luther

Her name was Linda, and she was born in Rosario, Argentina. His name was Luther, and he was born in Xinghua, China. Both Linda and Luther were children of Americans. They both were born while their parents served in the military. * They could not have been born in places farther apart. Rosario and Xinghua are separated by 12,425 miles**. Yet, Linda and Luther met in the Mid-Western city of Chicago, Illinois, USA. Countries and Continents apart, they fell in love and married. From worlds apart, they had joined in unity and became one. For years, their marriage was held tightly together by love. Flavored by that love, the word 'We' became their unifier. That is until they allowed two other disconnecting words to enter their connected lives. Like slowly dropping snowflakes on cold winter days, two words subtly drifted in and completely covered their 'We Word' with other words. Their 'We Word' became feeble, and could not weather the storms of life. It was as if they not only lost sight of their 'We Word', but it seems their own names of Linda and Luther were exchanged for the words, 'I' and 'You'. 'I' never seemed to see eye to eye with 'You', and neither could 'You' see eye to eye with 'I'. Both physically and maritally, Love, symbolized by the 'We' Word", had brought them so close together. But selfishness, symbolized by the 'I' and 'You' Words, had torn them apart, and in an emotional and spiritual sense, sent them much farther apart than 12,425 miles. 102322PS *Fiction **What are the 2 farthest points on Earth? Hi curtis, So interesting what you've done with this writing style. A fine guarded tale of Linda and Luther, and the distance traveled. Never take anything or anyone for granted. -Richard
