Like Water
LIKE WATER
We are a river molecule,
A fleeting flowing moment,
We are the stream.
Just passing ever down,
Then gone we are again,
Gone up into the air.
To quickly fly away,
In but a moment’s moment.
We are vanished,
And rained into the sea.
We hitch a ride upon the tide,
Coming in then going out.
A last we are the ice,
Carved from a frigid sea.
And quickly we float by,
Inside a fleeting floe.
Back to liquid latitudes.
Where we are changed,
And changed again,
But still remain,
The molecule of life.
