Like a Firefly

I'm chasing an illusion but I've no choice maybe this is where my freedom lies! Swirling and dancing to the tunes of some invisible flute. Am afraid the world will learn about my feelings without me having to show!! It's hard to put in words the pictures in my mind, there's a burst of emotions, so many of them it's hard to keep count. Every passing moment a battle, in order to clutch even more forcefully to that moment which I like to think is mine. I don't envy the glory of the crimson hued butterflies who're surrounded by flowers and have rainbows as their allies nor is it the softness of the flower petals or the sprinkle of dew drops that draws my attention. All I rather wanna do is stretch out my wings and reach out to the Sun, which is maybe oblivious to my humble presence But extinguishing myself in it's fire gives meaning to my senseless existence... I am like the Firefly, that tiny devotee of the fire, whose name is so much it's own. Living it, loving it and then embracing it for the love of it not knowing one day it will be engulfed by the very object of it's own desire. But this is where my freedom lies for I am a FIREFLY!

There's a reason they call it a "Pilot" light. Let that one simmer a bit. :) This was deep & majestic in its emotional presentation. May you continue to fly!

If firefly you are, you are chased by dreams living in the hearts of children everywhere. They seek to place you in glass enclosed prisons until you fade into obscurity.... It is disheartening to see those dreams fade away and die.... Beautifully done.... Jake
