"lighthouse"

The clouds are rolling in thick tonight..
My vision is blocked by wrong from right..
Steps I take may change my look but not my soul...
I feel torn just a bit from some words I've been told..
This beacon shines light through my thoughts...
Guides me up and over some strong choices I fought..
Where I stand this lighthouse shows me the way..
Just afraid where it points might not be a better day...
I will set sail on a course where the water might be rough...
This is a time to buckle up because the ride may be tough...
I will ride this out with a raincoat to keep me dry..
Its a course I must follow or wither and die...

I'm not sure what rough waters you speak of in this poem. but I certainly can relate the messege to some of my own struggles. And without that beacon I would surely be lost . Well done

Really enjoyed this one Michael. The structure is great, super opening couplet, then you take us on a journey to your determined conclusion. (just one typo beaken / beacon). Good one! ~ Sharon :)

The water "might be rough," Michael, but I'm glad you decided to ride out the storm and see where the light takes you. Very thought-provoking poem! Love, Carolyn
